Hello Everyone at Happy Monday,
Last Friday night, I went to London Zoo and I have to admit, I wouldn’t call myself an animal person…
But despite my initial reluctance, I was particularly inspired by the sloths.
Watching these fascinating animals move so slowly and deliberately, totally unbothered by the world around them, was a revelation. They rest when they need to, move when they feel like it, and don’t apologize for it. In our fast-paced world, where productivity often trumps well-being, their lifestyle offers a refreshing and much-needed perspective.
As I observed the sloths, I couldn’t help but think about the work I do with actors and corporate professionals. Much like these laid-back creatures, we too need to honor our bodies’ needs and move with intention. Before we can communicate effectively with others, we have to be in tune with ourselves. This idea—working from the self first—is at the heart of my teachings.
In our professional lives, it’s all too easy to push ourselves to the brink, neglecting rest and self-care in the pursuit of goals. But the sloths remind us that true effectiveness comes from a place of balance. By slowing down and prioritizing our well-being, we can actually enhance our productivity and the quality of our interactions.
I’m really excited to explore this concept further in my upcoming webinar on July 24th at 6 PM. This free session will dive into the importance of self-awareness and intentionality in our work and communication. Whether you’re an actor looking to connect more deeply with your character or a corporate professional aiming to improve workplace interactions, this webinar will offer valuable insights- it’s free!
See you on the 24th!
