Hello and happy Monday.
I often find myself in the unique position of not just hearing performances, but feeling them—quite literally.
Recently, I had the opportunity to watch the dress run of a show I was voice-supporting from the back of the theatre. While I could certainly hear the actors, something crucial was missing: emotional impact.
In the world of voice coaching, we understand that articulation is more than just being audible; it's about how the nuances of vowel sounds and the vibrations of voice resonate with the audience. As I sat at the back of the theatre, I found myself yearning for more intentional choices from the performers.
Yes, their words reached me, but I struggled to follow their character’s needs and wants.
It's not enough for actors to simply project their voices to the back row. They must be mindful of how they shape their words, infuse them with emotion, and modulate their tone to ensure that every member of the audience, regardless of their seating position, is fully immersed in the performance.
In professional environments, the same principle applies.
Whether you're delivering a presentation, leading a team meeting, or engaging with clients, simply reciting information won't have the same impact as intentional communication.
By being mindful of how you want your audience to feel, you can elevate your message and create a lasting impression.
Remember, it's not just about being heard; it's about being felt.
Have a beautiful week!
